The PC Tools You Need for Better Desktop Performance
For a contractor to work efficiently and quickly, he must have the right equipment to use, such as a power drill, angle grinder, and MIG welder, among others. Otherwise, his project would be delayed and would probably end up less impressive. If a computer is likened to a builder, then it also needs a variety of components and applications to run faster and perform better. Now, what are some of the essential features?
Software
Anti-Virus – No PC should be without it as there are tons of malicious programs rampant on the Internet and in other desktops. When they are not spread across the Web, they can be distributed through storage devices such as a flash drive and an external hard disk.
Compression Utility – This is what you need for moving data efficiently. As you may know, large documents that are reduced in size can be easily attached via email or sent through file transfers. This will also work in an opposite manner, opening compressed materials (zip or rar) that you would receive.
Backup Software – Usually, this would be bundled with your OS. But in cases when it does not do its job well, you can install third-party applications to ensure that all your files will be properly and regularly saved.
Browsers – Your choice can include Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages, most especially in terms of add-ons such as Flash. Still, they are your tools to get connected to the Internet.
Hardware
Peripherals – Your PC will not be fully functional without the keyboard and mouse. That is because they allow you to input data to your machine, which are then processed to any format or output that you want.
Optical Drive – This is where you can copy or burn data on a media storage such as CD/DVD. It also serves as your input for multimedia entertainment such as movies and videos.
Printer – This is one of the output devices second only to the monitor. Without it, having a hard copy of all your documents would be impossible.
As you can see, each of these components has a significant role in the world of computing. The list, however, is not exhaustive which means there are other devices that are just as essential. Similar to construction and gardening tools, there are several of them that will surely make DIY projects quicker to accomplish.
